This page features original artwork depicting wild birds,
and includes owls, raptors, woodpeckers and a variety of passerines. Most
of the paintings have been inspired by first hand observation of species
in the wild, though several images were commissioned for publication by
BBC Wildlife Magazine.

- Comments: I watched this bird whilst gathering reference material for my award-winning Hen harrier painting, in mid-Wales. It was very early one April morning, and the sun had just risen over the surrounding hillside, casting beautiful light on a patch of rough pasture where this bird was feeding.
